Ministry
to Parents
We believe the highest calling and privilege for a parent is to make disciples of their own children - to raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4). Christian parents have the God-given responsibility and requirement to disciple their children. The church does not hold the role of primary disciple-maker of children. Its role is supplemental, not substitutive. The church’s responsibility is to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Eph.4:12), and this certainly includes equipping parents within the body so that they can lead their families well. We do that through a variety of ways at NBBC, including our Family Discipleship Workshops.
Family discipleship is the backbone of everything that we do in the Family Ministry. The way we like to think about it is broken into four buckets: Modeling, Time, Moments, and Milestones. This model comes from work done at The Village Church, outlined in the Family Discipleship Guide linked below, expounded upon in the book Family Discipleship by Chandler and Griffin, and rooted in the Shema.
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
Deut. 6:5-7

On Sunday mornings, birth through two-year-olds are in the nursery, and three-year-olds through our kindergarten friends meet downstairs in the Kids' wing. During our worship service, we have nursery and Wigglein' Worship program for kids birth through Kindergarten.
On Wednesdays, we have the nursery available for birth through 3-year-olds and Adventure Club for our PreK 4s and Kindergarteners.

Kids Ministry
Elementary
Our elementary department serves families of 1st - 5th grade kids. During this time, we often see kids make professions of faith and be baptized.

On Sunday mornings, we gather upstairs in the Kids Wing for a time of worship and bible study. The kids are going through a curriculum called The Gospel Project that takes them through all of Scripture every three years. During our worship service, we encourage 1st graders and up to attend worship together with their families.

On Wednesday night, we have Adventure Club where we sing songs, play games, and teach kids the foundations of theology through the study of God's Word.
